The International Rescue Committee goes to crisis zones to rescue and rebuild. We lead refugees from harm to home.

Professional Re-Certification Program

Through an annual, anonymous contribution to the IRC in San Francisco since 2005, funds are available to help refugees, asylees and victims of human trafficking become re-certified in their professions. The goal of the program is to support individuals with professional education and work histories from their home countries to re-enter their profession in the greater Bay Area.

Eligibility for support through the re-certification program is based on:

  • Professional education and background
  • Lack of rest preparation materials, education verification, required licensing or other such obstacles to employment in the professional field
  • Financial need
