Sarlo Academic Assistance Fund

College Scholarships, 2009-2010 Academic Year

ANNOUNCEMENT

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in San Francisco is delighted to announce
the availability of college scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year.

These scholarships are funded by a grant from
the Sarlo Foundation of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund.

 

Eligibility Requirements

US Immigration Status

Applicants must be, or have been, granted one of the following:

- Refugee, entry to the U.S. as a lawfully admitted refugee

- Asylee, granted political asylum in the U.S.

- Trafficking Victim, certified victim of human trafficking

Individuals who are or have been issued refugee, asylee, or victim of trafficking status are eligible regardless of current immigration status. Those refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking who have adjusted their status to legal permanent resident or naturalized U.S. citizen are eligible to apply for scholarships.

 

Place of residence

Applicants must live in one of the following counties:

- Alameda

- Contra Costa

- Marin

- San Mateo

- San Francisco

- San Joaquin

- Stanislaus

 

Application Deadline

Application must be postmarked no later than January 15th, 2009.
