IRC SLC is currently recruiting an emotional well-being specialist with our health program.  This is an AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteer position.  For details on this position or to apply, please visit the AmeriCorps website (https://my.americorps.gov/mp/listing/publicRequestSearch.do) and enter "International Rescue Committee."  You must be a permanent legal resident of the United States to become an AmeriCorps*VISTA member.

Resettlement
In 2009, IRC Salt Lake City expects to resettle 535 refugees from as far away as Burma, Bhutan, Eritrea, DR Congo, Somalia, Iraq and Cuba.  You can join us as a partner in welcoming refugees by donating time, money and goods.

We accept the following donations:

  • Personal care items: body soap, shampoo, deoderant, liquid dish soap, laundry detergent and lotion
  • Dining room chairs + tables
  • Couches
  • Dish sets and glass sets 
  • Gift cards to local grocery stores 

Donations are tax deductible.

Volunteer
IRC will hold the next general volunteer orientation on Tuesday June 23rd at 5:30pm. The family mentor orientation will be held on Tuesday June 30th at 5:30pm. Making a Monetary Gift
Monetary gifts from generous individuals are an important source of support for refugees resettling in Salt Lake through IRC.  Donations are tax deductible.  Current donations made to support our Emergency Housing Fund will be matched dollar for dollar!  To make a monetary donation, click here.

Office Hours
Our office is located at 231 East 400 South, Suite 50.  The IRC is open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, except for holidays and during staff meetings.  Staff meetings occur each Wednesday from 1:00-2:30 pm.   Our office will be closed Wednesday, June 24th at 2:30; it will reopen at 9:00 am the following day.
