Reception and Placement (R & P) Services Before refugees arrive in the New York area, caseworkers ensure that their new clients have safe places to live and are provided with food, furniture, and basic household goods. Reception and Placement Services also include medical treatment, employment counseling, individualized case management and acculturation assistance. R & P Services last throughout a refugee's first 30 days in the United States and can be extended for another three months through IRC New York's Matching Grant Program.
