Welcome to IRC Miami!
Our office in Miami opened in 1960 mainly to assist refugees fleeing the revolution in Cuba. Since then, the office has resettled tens of thousands of refugees from all over the world. In 2000, the Miami office expanded its services to asylees and Cuban lottery parolees. The IRC provides a wide range of services to refugees in all stages of resettlement and seeks to promote each refugee family's search for self-sufficiency.
Get Involved with IRC Miami
Volunteer: To efficiently assist refugees with their transition and cultural adjustment upon arrival, IRC Miami offers many volunteer opportunities. Get involved today and become part of the IRC family. Please contact Oasis Peña at oasis.pena@theirc.org to schedule a volunteer orientation session and learn how you can get involved assisting refugees.
Donate: Deliver hope to newly arrived refugees & help them rebuild their lives in South Florida.
Be a part of the “On the Move” Donations Program through donations & volunteering. Donate household appliances & supplies, TVs, furniture in good condition, computers, gently used clothing and new undergarments. Volunteer your time in organizing, sorting and distributing donated goods. Please contact Miguel Molina at (305) 640-9881 ext. 17 or via email at miguelm@theIRC.org
Car Donations: Limited local public transportation in Miami makes it challenging for newly arrived refugees to get to work. IRC Miami will donate your car directly to a refugee family, making your donation fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Adopt a family: Our adoption program symbolizes what your cash gift contribution can do through the work of the IRC for newly arrived refugees, asylees, parolees & victims of human trafficking. Your cash donation will help the IRC Miami supplement the assistance provided to our families. All Donations to the IRC are tax deductible. To make a donation click here or contact Miami@theirc.org
The IRC is consistently ranked as one of the top charitable organizations because of the efficiency and quality of its programs. Of every $1 the IRC spends 90 cents goes to programs and services that directly benefit refugees
