IRC-Atlanta provides individuals, groups and businesses with a perfect place to donate unneeded furniture, clothing and household items to a great cause. Your in-kind donations are directly redistributed to newly arrived refugee families who are starting a new life in the United States.
IRC-Atlanta provides each refugee that we resettle with the goods and furnishings that he or she will need to get started here. We also distribute free clothing and household items to refugees throughout their initial months of resettlement via our Resettlement Shop.
WHAT DO REFUGEES NEED?
Before each refugee arrives, IRC-Atlanta sets up an apartment with all the basic furnishings and supplies for their initial weeks in the country. We welcome your donations of any of these items!
Once the clients have arrived, they are able to obtain additional items they need, including clothing, shoes and other household items, by visiting the Resettlement Shop.
Located just downstairs (Suite 105-C) from IRC-Atlanta’s office, the Resettlement Shop is the distribution point for community-donated items to reach our IRC-Atlanta clientele. In the shop, refugees are able to browse and select the items they need free of charge.
In addition to the furniture, hygiene and household items listed above, the following goods are usually in high demand and short supply:
- School Supplies and Backpacks
