The IRC in Salt Lake City

WE'VE MOVED!  Our office is now located at 231 East 400 South, Suite 50.

Since 1994, IRC Salt Lake City has helped over 6,000 refugees begin new lives in Utah.  We need the following household items to give to refugee families rebuilding their lives:

• Tables and chairs
• Couches
• Dressers
• Small desks
• Cars - in working condition

We also happily accept gift cards to Smith’s, Albertsons, Walmart, Sears and Home Depot or Lowe’s.  Donations are tax deductible.  Please call 801.328.1091 and ask to speak with Leah to schedule a donation drop-off or pick-up time.

AmeriCorps*VISTA
Each year, the IRC in Salt Lake City hosts AmeriCorps*VISTA volunteers.  This year, we will recruit a VISTA Volunteer Program Coordinator and an Educational Programs Coordinator to start this August.  Both positions are full-time volunteer commitments for one year and offer opportunities to develop program management and nonprofit skills.

If you are interested in learning more about IRC SLC's AmeriCorps*VISTA project, or to apply for these positions, please visit the AmeriCorps website: www.americorps.gov.  Search for the International Rescue Committee in Utah.

Volunteer

Our next general orientation will be held July 23rd from 5:30 until 6:30.  Please contact Lisa Robinson for more details (Lisa.Robinson@theIRC.org) about the general orientation and volunteering.

We are currently recruiting child development and child care interns to help develop a program to prepare young children for structured learning experiences.  For more information on these  internships, please contact Anna Isaacs by phone at 801.328.1091 ext 104 or by email at Anna.Isaacs@theIRC.org.  For general internship inquiries, please contact Meghan Horner (Meghan.Horner@theIRC.org).

Making a Monetary Gift
IRC Salt Lake City services are supported, in part, through Federal and private grants.  Gifts from generous individuals are an important source of support for refugees resettling in Salt Lake through IRC.  Donations are tax deductible.  To make a monetary donation, click here.
