The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence symbolically link the International Day Against Violence Against Women (on 25 November) to International Human Rights Day (on 10 December). During this time over 2,000 organisations around the world work together to raise awareness about gender violence and to call in unison for the elimination of all violence against women and girls.
What can you do?
We need your help in our campaign to end sexual violence as a weapon of war. The atrocities suffered right now by women in the Congo are “almost unimaginable,” in the words of the United Nations Emergency Coordinator. And even when fighting stops, as in Liberia or Sierra Leone, violence against women often continues unchecked while the world looks away.
