  • Congo's Forgotten Crisis

    Conflict and humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo have taken the lives of 5.4 million people since 1998 and continue to leave as many as 45,000 dead every month, according to a new mortality survey released by the IRC.

  • IRC restarts programmes in Iraq

    The IRC is re-launching aid programmes for displaced and vulnerable people in Iraq. "There is little humanitarian aid reaching Iraqis who have fled the ongoing violence," says Alan Manski, who led the IRC's recent assessment mission. "These families are in dire straits and are struggling to get by on dwindling resources."
