• International Rescue Committee aid workers have launched programs for displaced children in Georgia and are ensuring that thousands of uprooted families have adequate water and sanitation services.
  
  Thousands of South Ossetians fled into North Ossetia, Russia to escape intense fighting, among them dozens of children from an orphanage. The IRC is supporting a local aid group that’s providing needed care for the children.
