(April 2007) For a group of refugee girls in San Diego, basketball practice isn’t just an after-school activity: it’s a way of learning about U.S. culture and exercising their new freedoms. Earlier this month, the IRC's Emily Holland took these photos and sat courtside with some of the players to find out more.
