The International Rescue Committee goes to crisis zones to rescue and rebuild. We lead refugees from harm to home.

Changes to our site

Thank you for visiting the International Rescue Committee's Web site, theIRC.org.  If you have been here before (welcome back!) you'll notice a few changes.  We are making the first of many improvements, some of them suggested by IRC supporters like you. Our goal is to give you a site that is as current, compelling and easy to use as possible.

We'll use this page to keep you posted on changes over the coming weeks.  We welcome your feedback at webmaster@theIRC.org.

Main Menu

The main menu (previously located under the IRC logo on the left) is now at the top of every page:

Who We Are
About us, history, leadership, financial information and annual report, program information and careers

Where We Work
Learn about our work in 42 countries and 24 U.S. cities, plus our headquarters offices. (Look for an interactive map soon.)

News, Photos & Video
Latest news stories, crisis updates, issues in focus, photo essays, videos, podcasts, RSS feeds and blog posts

How You Can Help
Donate, advocate, volunteer, get IRC updates, attend and host IRC events, become a corporate partner, shop for our cause, link to us, and work with us

The former What We Do section is now Our Work under Who We Are. (Check back for a fresh approach to this section.)  Also, the Press Room is now named Media Center.

Buttons

You can find the buttons to Donate, Take Action and Sign Up for IRC e-mail on the left.  If you're looking for a career with the IRC, Work with Us is now part of How You Can Help.  (You also can get there via the Careers link at the bottom of every page and in the Who We Are section.)

Blog

On the right side of our homepage, there's a new way to get to the IRC Voices from the Field blog.  If you haven't visited the blog before, you've missed powerful, first-person stories from aid workers, refugees and IRC volunteers in the U.S. and around the world.  We hope you'll join us there and share your comments.

If you have spent time on the blog, you might have noticed some recent changes there, too.  We've added more "social bookmarks" for sites like Facebook, MySpace, Del.icio.us and Digg to help you save and share IRC posts you find interesting.

You'll also find a new widget for watching our YouTube videos and a larger format for photos taken by IRC staff. (Many of you have told us these photos are your favorite feature of the site.)

To give us your feedback, please e-mail webmaster@theIRC.org.
