DINING FOR DARFUR: Eat Dinner to Make a Difference April 29

12 Mar 2007 - On Sunday, April 29, diners all over the country will come together to take action against the crisis in Darfur.

Participating restaurants across the nation have pledged to donate 5% of sales to the International Rescue Committee to support our work in Darfur. Last year’s Dining for Darfur raised almost $30,000 for the people of Darfur and this year we hope to double that number.

This 2007 fundraiser also coincides with the highly-anticipated release of Academy Award-nominated actor Don Cheadle and humanitarian John Prendergast's new book, "Not on Our Watch" (Hyperion).

And, thanks to the generous sponsorship of The Michelin Guide, diners who make a contribution to Dining for Darfur of $50 or more will receive a free 2007 New York City Michelin Guide.

Dining for Darfur is the vision and creation of Andrea Strong, a freelance food writer and the founder and author of The Strong Buzz (www.thestrongbuzz.com), a weekly New York City-based food blog. Her goal is to raise both funds and awareness about Darfur.
