IRC’s Family Support Initiative is an essential element in helping refugees build confidence in their ability to meet the challenges of their new lives.
Through this program, each family is provided with a holistic array of services to ensure that both children and adults are adjusting to life in the United States without becoming overwhelmed emotionally. The IRC provides child-centered services such as individual and group counseling, child enrichment activities and school liaison services over the five-year period until refugees become U.S. citizens.
The Family Support Initiative is a prism through which all available resources, both through IRC and the larger community, are brought together to effectively serve individual families.
