Five years later, a hidden crisis: Report of the IRC Commission on Iraqi Refugees
The crisis of displaced Iraqis remains a massive and lasting challenge. The political, social and financial impact on Iraq and the region will be felt for many years to come. The large number of refugees hosted by Iraq's neighbour countries has placed significant strains on their resources and only some 60,000 Iraqis have submitted asylum claims within the EU. Mortality in the Democratic Republic of Congo: An Ongoing Crisis
The DRC has been egulfed by conflict for over a decade with devastating effects on its civilian population. Since 2000, the International Rescue Committe (IRC) has documented the humanitarian impact of war and conflict in DRC through a series of 5 mortality surveys which show how the conflict and the violence have persisted - causing extraordinary loss of life.
