The IRC in Phoenix

Since opening in 1994, the International Rescue Committee's Phoenix office has helped resettle more than 6,800 refugees. We are now the largest resettlement agency in Arizona.  We offer a variety of services to assist refugees from arrival through the citizenship application process, including a micro-enterprise program that helps refugees start small businesses, a youth program for refugee teens, and a mental health program that helps refugees deal with all aspects of adjusting to their new lives in the United States.

Our staff members represent 13 different ethnic backgrounds and include several part-time translators (languages include Aramaic, Albanian, Arabic, Burmese, Farsi, French, German, Italian, Kirundi, Kiswahili, Kurdish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Somali and Spanish).

Hours of Operation

Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00. Open to clients on Thursdays by appointment.

Donations

Help newly arrived refugees rebuild their lives by providing them with basic necessities such as toiletries, household items, linens, and clothing OR by making a cash donation. Contact Development Associate Megan O'Connor at Megan.OConnor@theIRC.org.

The IRC is consistently ranked among the leading charities by publications such as Smart Money, Consumers Digest, Money and Forbes. Of every dollar that the IRC spends, at least 90 cents goes directly to refugee programs. Donations are fully tax-deductible.

Volunteering

The IRC needs your help as a volunteer! Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Nicky Walker at Nicolle.Walker@theIRC.org to schedule a volunteer orientation session and learn how you can get involved assisting refugees.
